Paul was a man who was well-versed in the Old Testament. The principles and encouragements that he shares with the people he writes to in the New Testament comes out of that understanding. It shows us once again that we need the whole Bible, Old Testament and New Testament, that we may grow in our love for, and knowledge of the Lord, and be prepared to share the good news of the gospel.
