Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the tomb three days later, but even though He had prepared His disciples for the coming of that day, they had a hard time accepting that He was back from the grave. Some claim that seeing is believing, but even seeing the Lord with their own eyes did not stop His followers from doubting. One disciple expressed his disbelief in the Christ's resurrection so strongly that he declared, “Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” (
