The Dysfunctionality of the Apostates
Jude 1:12-13
Introduction:
I. The hidden dangers in your love feasts v.12a
-(CSB) dangerous reefs at your love feasts; (ESV, NASB)
hidden reefs at your love feasts; (NIV) blemishes at your love
feasts; (The Message) they are warts in your love feasts
-The 1st Century Church observed the Lord Supper in an
Agape Feast
-The danger of observing the Lord’s Supper in an unworthily
manner 1 Cor. 11:27-30
-The apostate pastors are not concerned about the spiritual or
physical needs of the church
II. Waterless clouds, swept away by winds v.12c
-They are uncertain clouds, moved by the wind
-The apostate is doctrinally unstable James 1:6
III. Fruitless trees in late autumn v.12d
-The apostate has nothing to offer; they are spiritually dead
-In the end, uprooted and then eternally damned
IV. Wild waves of the sea v.13a
-The apostate is noisy
-Their shame becomes visible

V. Wondering stars v.13b
-A brief show and then nothing
-Unstable
