Title: THE FELLOWSHIP OFFERING
Content:
The fellowship offering is also known as the peace offering. It is meant to be shared. It is a time to enjoy the peace God gives us through fellowship with others. Satan tries to divide us. But God gives us the ability to be united in fellowship.
The fellowship offering could be a male or female sacrifice from the herd or flock, but it must be without blemish. The worshiper places their hand on the offering and kills it, signifying their identity with the offering. The priest pours out the blood on the altar. To enjoy peace with others, our sinful selves must die and be covered with the blood of Christ. Otherwise, there can be no unity or real peace. Have you died to your sinful nature in order to be united with others?
Next, the priests are to offer the fat of the burnt offering of the wood to be completely burnt up. Fat
is the most delicious and expensive part of the offering. This is a sign of giving our best to the Lord. God gave a command not to eat the blood or the fat, which are not healthy or safe for us anyway. Symbolically, this ritual represents giving our life (the blood) and our best (the fat) to the Lord. When we do so, we can enjoy peace with God and others.
Prayer: Father, you are the giver of peace through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Help me to give you my life and all and enjoy real peace through you.
