We take a look at two different kings - Manasseh and Josiah. Manasseh did wicked, but Josiah did what was right. Manasseh paid a price for his wickedness, but by God's grace he eventually humbled himself and was restored. Josiah however prospered greatly for his devotion to God.

We see the continued reforms by Hezekiah as he sends out word throughout all Israel to join together to celebrate the Passover for the first time in a long time. It makes a great difference when we remember the work of God in our lives and take time to worship Him.

We look at how King Hezekiah comes onto the scene and recognizes all the decay that's taken place both spiritually and politically in the land. We take a look at what he does about this and how we can learn from his actions.

As Judah sees the enemy approaching, God has an amazing word for them: "Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's." We often forget that God is for us, and if God is for us who can be against us. Do we rest in that truth or do we frantically try to fight opposition on our own?

Often times when we experience battles and problems, we can tend to freak out a little over it. We get fixated on the difficulties and fear sets in. What we need to realize is that God is in control. We need to get our eyes on Him and trust Him in each situation. We see the example of that so clearly in this study of 2 Chronicles.

Judah is being exposed once more to their great sins and the reason why God would bring the Babylonians against them as judgment. One picture God gives is that of a furnace that would melt all the metal ore where the dross would come to the top. And the Lord would have to scrape away all those impurities. Judah was to be like precious silver, but instead they had become like the impure dross.

There had been many excuses that the Israelites had been hanging on to regarding their situation and circumstances. But the Lord lays it all out for them that they've got nobody to blame but themselves. Sin has corrupted them. But God shows us His grace and mercy because He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He gives opportunity after opportunity for people to get right with Him.

We read about the heavy sin and idolatry that Judah was involved - to the extent that they're compared to Sodom and Samaria. Only Judah had done even worse! And yet with all the words of judgment that they deserved, God shows that He still has a future and a hope for them. There's always hope when we look to God!

The elders approach Ezekiel to hear from the Lord. They fell like everything is fine, however the Lord exposes the hidden sin in their hearts. There's idols before them that is robbing them from true devotion of the Lord. How we need to examine the things we hide away in our hearts that nothing comes between us and God.
