David exhibits Christ-like humility in his encounter with Shimei, a zealot who sought to humiliate David in the king's departure from his throne as Absalom's coup was temporarily effective. A great example of how to let the Lord handle our enemies!

Absalom's rebellion against David intensifies - David, knowing the kingdom is greater than the king, bows out and flees Jerusalem leaving the outcome in the hands of God.  May we likewise realize the church collectively is greater than the Christian individually, and be willing to suffer if it means the betterment of the kingdom today.

David and the woman from Tekoa - at the instigation of Joab, a wise woman confronts David with a made up story to get the king to realize the error of his way in his treatment of Absalom.
