Naomi and Ruth were childless widows living without any means of provision in Bethlehem (Ruth 2:2,18). But Boaz’s behavior towards them was outstanding and teaches us how to treat the poor around us today. In this sermon, Damilola Aderemi talks to us about building intentional relationships and caring for the poor even when others don't.

The Poor Is One Of Us Ruth 3:12-4:12 - Damilola Aderemi

From an unusual story in Ruth 3:1-8, where Ruth proposed to Boaz based on Naomi’s advice, Toki Numbere shares three valuable principles for us to see our romantic relationships flourish today: Community, Chastity and Character. 
 
Naomi's advice was motivated by her wanting to find a home for Ruth was so she could find rest (Ruth 3:1). And don't we all desire rest? (a state of satisfaction and flourishing in all areas of our lives) and often look for rest in people and things that do not satisfy. However, this endless pursuit for rest are pointers to where we will find true rest: God, who sent his son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for our sins and cover us with his everlasting love through the blood of his covenant (Ezekiel 16:18). It is only when we accept his proposal that we will find rest.

An Unusual Love Story Ruth 3:1-11 - Toki Numbere

We often like to think evangelism is a call to certain gifted people, but Toki Numbere shows us through Jeremiah’s story that God uses unlikely means to achieve his purposes. 
 
No one expected that if God will want to call a Prophet in Israel, it will be a young, inexperienced boy with no special background nor knowledge like Jeremiah. This was at a time when the people were coming out of deep sin under the rule of Kings Manasseh and Amon in 2 Kings 21:3-6; 23, so even Jeremiah protested but God commanded him to declare his message and assured Jeremiah of his presence, just like we must preach the gospel for others to hear and believe in Christ (Romans 10:14) and are assured of Jesus' presence in Matthew 28:20 
 
When we evangelize, we may be ridiculed like Jeremiah was. At such times, Jeremiah was encouraged through prayers and God’s word as seen in Jeremiah 20:7; 1:11. We too must remember the assurance of God’s blessing and victory in Matthew :11-12; John 1:33. We can persevere because God always keeps his word, as revealed to Jeremiah through his vision of the Almond tree in Jeremiah 1:11-12, representing God’s faithfulness. Speaking for God 1 Samuel 3:1-4:1a - Femi Osunnuyi
