We reflect on the fact that one of the qualities by which God declared His character to Moses was His patience - He is slow to anger. 
 
In this message, we look at what it means that God is patient, then ponder just how patient He has been with each one of us, before considering how it is that He can deal with us in this way. 
 
The proper response to God in the light of His character is to love Him. However, we are warned that if we continue to refuse Him and turn away from such love, His patience with us may reach an end. Why would we want to run the risk of facing God's wrath, when His Son has already done so, so that sinners like us might escape?

Do you believe that you can't come to Christ because he would never accept and forgive you even if you did? 
 
There is a sin that would produce this result - a sin that God won't forgive. Because such a sin is possible, you need to know what it is so that you can know how to avoid it. 
 
We see that those who are concerned about having committed this sin have not actually done so as yet. We also see that only by coming to Christ for salvation can we be fully and finally safe from any possibility that we might commit the unpardonable sin.

If you are a believer, you have the redemption of your spirit now but not yet the redemption of your body. A time is coming, though, when your physical body will be transformed into the likeness of Jesus' own glorious body, and you will then be equipped to enjoy those blessings of eternity to the fullest extent. 
We consider two things: 
*That your body will be raised and glorified, and 
*That this will happen when Jesus returns. 
 
Being raised to glory at all is based on trusting Jesus alone for salvation and walking with Him in holiness. Make sure, therefore, that this is your condition!

Paul tells us this is so much better than anything we have or can have here on earth. We are all urged to seek the Lord that we might hunger and thirst for His presence here on earth, but above all, in the glory of heaven.

Wherever He went, those who knew what He was capable of laid the sick in public places so that they might just touch the edge of His garment. As many as reached out in faith and touched Him were healed. 
We consider two things: 
*That you should seek to bring everyone you know to Jesus, but 
*You should also be ready to deal with the fact that most won't want to come. 
If you haven't trusted in Jesus, you really are in danger; Jesus is the only Savior. If you will believe in Him, He will rescue you. Reach out to Him while He draws near to you in the Gospel and be saved.

We consider the spiritual blessing of divine guidance. Paul tells us that in his own warfare, he didn't fight as one beating the air - he knew precisely what to do and when to do it. He knew because He had direction from the Lord. 
 
We see two things: 
*First, that the Lord promises He will direct you, and 
*Second, that He promises to guide you even when you don't feel like following His Word. 
 
Have you inherited this blessing? Believe on the Lord Jesus - trust Him, His righteousness, and His death to save you. Turn from all your sins to walk in His ways. If you do this from the heart, all the blessings of heaven will be yours.

We consider the account of the woman with a hemorrhage who touched Jesus' garments, looking at two things: 
*First, that you must see your need before you will reach out to Jesus, and 
*Second, that if you would ever have peace with God, you must reach out to Him in faith. 
 
If you will reach out and take hold of Him by faith, He will take away your sins and make you whole. He will take away your uncleanness - Jesus will apply His blood and death to you and wash it away. He will also give you a new desire to love and serve Him by His Spirit.

All you need to do is come to Jesus in faith and receive this full and free salvation. Jesus says, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest" (Matt. 11:28).

*Adoption into the family of God gives you free access to God. 
*It makes your worship acceptable. 
*More specifically, it makes your prayers acceptable. 
 
If you don't know Him, He won't receive you, your worship or works, nor will He necessarily answer your prayers. If you want these blessings, you must be His child. If you are to become His child, then you must turn from your sins and trust in Christ. He will receive you as His own Son. He will love you, listen to your prayers and care for you now and throughout eternity. Don't stand on the outside looking in - trust in Jesus and enter His family.

We are encouraged to seek after God for more of this work of the Spirit in our hearts. If we do not have it at all, it is because we are not true believers and we need to come to Christ for salvation and the outpouring of His Spirit in our hearts.
