The book of Ruth is a story of redemption by God's providence, a picture of Christ, a Proverbs 31 woman of valor, a love story, a story of hopelessness to hope.

Imong Dios, Akong Dios (Ruth 1:16-18)

Series Title: The Story of God 
Main Idea: God is love, and His love impels us to love Him, believe Him, and obey Him. 
The doctrine of the love of God is complex and difficult to describe in every respect. What is clear, though, is that God’s love for the world resulted to the sending of His beloved and begotten Son, Jesus, in order to save those who will believe in Him. This Sunday, we will look at how God’s many aspects of love is shown to the world, and especially to His children. God is love, and His love impels us to love Him, believe Him, and obey Him.

The God Who Loves (John 3:16-21, 35-36)

The basis of our justification is God’s grace, which is freely given through the redemption accomplished by Jesus Christ to those who will believe. How, then, can a person access this grace given by God? How is the redemption of Christ applied to sinners like us? A person is made righteous before God apart from doing good works or any kind of human accomplishment, but only through faith in Christ Jesus. 
 
In this sermon, we will take a deeper look at one dimension of this whole process of salvation – faith alone in Jesus Christ alone!

We see many leadership models in the world today, and many of these have seeped into today's church. Books and theories talk about the visionary leader, the CEO, the transformational leader, the servant leader and the like. 
 
Yet the Bible has not left us wondering about the qualifications and character of the leaders that God desires for His church. In 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-16, Paul describes two offices in the church: those of elders / pastors / overseers and those of deacons, and describes the qualities of each. 
 
Ultimately, they are character definitions, showing that character precedes even competence in biblical leadership. 
 
Are you called to lead in any capacity? Then: 
 
Pray - about it 
Aspire - for it 
Serve - in whatever capacity God enables you 
Trust God - for His leading and timing 
Obey - God and His word 
Read - study Scripture and grow in knowledge and wisdom
