Happy Easter! Believers celebrate Easter to acknowledge the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus the Christ. This is a unique Easter because it's fallen on a first Sunday when we typically share in the Lord's sacred supper to show His death and suffering on the cross. Hallelujah - He is Risen! We will recognize His death and suffering, but our message today is, He is Risen! The text today is taken from the Gospel of Luke 23:54-56; 24:1-9.

Today, the Apostle Paul has a brief layover in Athens, where he discovers the Athenians are too religious - to the point of being superstitious. Our world is not much different today. People's beliefs are varied. Subtle demonic influences, woven into our historic, cultural, and social fabric, are fertile ground for satan's tricks. In our text, Paul introduces the skeptics of Athens to the One True God, and encourages them to trust only Him. He also reminds us to seek and wholly place our trust in God.
