His answer would have been the same if he was asked a hundred times. Humility, therefore, is the foundation of all virtues. In this series we will explore the Christlike wisdom of what C.S. The life and kingship of David exemplifies what Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1:28, "[That] God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing that the world considers important." As a lowly shepherd boy, David wasn't qualified to lead a nation by worldly standards. As we'll see in this sermon series, God often chooses the weak things of the world to lead the strong so that He can show His glory.
