“Paul motivated his readers further by pointing to the benefits that come to those who give generously.” – Richard Pratt

Focus/Anchor Point for text: 2 Corinthians 9:6
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Paul, in our text, uncovers the benefits of Christ-centered giving in the life of the believer…

I. Paul’s real-life axiom for Christ centered giving. – (2 Corinthians 9:6)
The axiom of the law of the harvest is one of the clearest truths Paul could use.

The law of the harvest is defined in:
Galatians 6:7-8
7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

II. The blessings of Christ-centered giving for the follower of Christ. – (2 Corinthians 9:7)
1.) God’s love for the faithful giver. – (2 Corinthians 9:7)
2.) God’s generosity to the faithful giver. – (2 Corinthians 9:8-11)
3.) The faithful giver glorifies God the Father. – (2 Corinthians 9:11-13)
4.) The faithful giver praises God the Father for the ultimate gift. – (2 Corinthians 9:14-15)

Closing Point of Application:
1.) Christ-centered giving will test our faith, but Christ-centered giving will reward those to walk by faith not by sight.
