Living Like Jesus Is Coming Today! 2 Peter 3:11-18

I) Live in such a way V.11-12a
• Since know Lord’s Day is coming – how should we live?
• Live holy and godly lives.
• Holy: Purity, separate, special, uncommon. Be holy as God is
holy (1Peter 1:15-16). Lord’s character, reflect His glory. Inward
& outward conduct.
• New creation, (2Corinthians 5:17). Reconciled, ambassador.
• Godly: reverence, respect, devotion. Being in Christ, like Him.
• Live holy/godly to speed the coming Day of the Lord.
• Acts 3:19
• Matthew 6:10
II) Destruction & Renewal V.12b-13
• Jesus’ coming brings end -- devastation by fire (see V.7, 10).
• 1Corinthians 3:11-15
• New heaven/earth Revelation 21:1
III) Make Every Effort V.14
• Make every effort be found spotless, blameless, & at peace.
• Spotless: unblemished, moral, pure.
• Blameless: Without blame, innocent, unblemished.
• At Peace: safe, tranquil, reconciled, secure, as one. (John
17:20-22), (John 14:27).
• Make every effort: diligent earnest, use speed, be prompt.
• V.15-16 Confidence of Paul’s writings.
• V.17-18 Take action: be guarded, secure, grow in grace &
knowledge of Jesus.
