We are in a series called The Fundamentals this summer at Imprint Church in Woodinville. It's all about a new reality of life in Christ.

Here are the new realities we have talked about in 1 John so far. (Find these sermons on http://imprintchurch.org/sermon-series/)

The reality of God... Jesus is alive and He is perfect light. He is the creator, sustainer, and the one who ultimately sacrificed His life for us because we were supposed to be killed because of our sins.

The reality of sin... we are all sinful, but because of Jesus' death we can have forgiveness. Now our goal is to walk as best we can without sin, but when we do sin, don't hide our sins. John calls that, "walking in the light".

The reality of God's will for us... Forrest Miller talked about our need to have confidence in God's law and that our lips and our lives need to be in alignment. God's word being lived through our actions is proof of our relationship with God.

This week we carry on to another reality: the reality that we live in a fallen - therefore sinful and evil - and broken world.
