This week will start a study in the book of 1 Timothy. 1 Timothy is a deeply personal letter written by the apostle Paul to his son in 
the faith, Timothy. Timothy had traveled with Paul at times and had learned to follow Christ through Paul’s teaching and example. Paul left Timothy in Ephesus to lead the church in Paul’s absence. Later Paul writes the letter, 1 Timothy, to give Timothy instruction on how to lead the church. Paul starts the letter emphasizing the teaching of God’s redemptive plan. He then tells how the Law is necessary 
for those that have no morality. Paul is then quick to say that he is the worst of all sinners but God has given him grace. Join us this 
week as we talk about both our need for the boundaries of the Law and our desperate need for grace.

There must be no mistake about it, the New Testament speaks of being under The “law to Christ” (I Corinthians 9:21), as well as mentioning the “law of faith” (Romans 3:27-31), the "law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus" in which we are free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2), "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2), the "perfect law of liberty" (James 1:25, and James 2:12) and the "royal law" (James 2:8).

Glen married his high school sweetheart, Jerilyn, in 1988 and they have 6 wonderful children together. He is a retired Chief Petty Officer from the US Navy who worked in the field of Naval Aviation Search and Rescue and served as a Master Training Specialist for much of his career. 
Prior to leaving the military in 2007, he studied at Calvary Chapel Bible College, and eventually went on to become the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Eureka, in California, Calvary Chapel True North in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Calhan Country Church in Calhan, Colorado.  Pastor Glen earned a  Bachelor of Science Degree in Ministry Leadership at Moody Bible Institute and currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Calvary Chapel Cornerstone in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
