In the previous text, Paul explained to Timothy that some woke believers are using the law for their advantage and, therefore, out of the wrong motivation. And because Paul is a legal expert in the law, he will explain to Timothy how the law, if these woke believers are not careful and do not adjust course, it could have an adverse effect on them. Here's what he says: 
 
Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane — 1 Timothy 1:8-9 
 
 As he explains here, the law is made for three groups of people: 
 
To restrain the unlawful & disobedient. 
To reveal the ungodly & sinful. 
To rule the unholy & profane. 
 
And the problem with these woke believers is that they will be judged by the very law they are using for their own advantage. Because the law is not for the just, but for the unjust. The law is for those whose motivations and actions are driven by lawlessness. 
 
In our time, what Paul says here, gives me hope. Even in our culture, where new ideas seem to be gaining ground, I know this one thing — that any new ideology that arises against the Law of God will eventually be defeated. Because woke and broke ideas eventually die and break. And the people who proclaim them ultimately consume themselves. All we have to do is trust God's Law and stay out of the way because his moral and natural laws cannot be altered. And in the meantime, we need to bring all our motivation to him, be led by his Spirit, remain under the Law of Grace, and preach this to others. 
 
So consider this today. Where in your life do you need to address sin and embrace God's grace? 
 
ASK THIS: What grace do you need today? 
 
DO THIS: Ask God for his grace. 
 
PRAY THIS: God, I need your grace.  
 
PLAY THIS: Your Grace Finds Me.

1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, and Titus are known as the Pastoral epistles in which Paul writes and commands the proper order of the New Testament Church. Paul writes to his son in the faith, Timothy, encouraging him to remain in Ephesus and complete the work he was called to, which is to command the Elders to teach no other doctrine but sound doctrine, which produces love and changes lives.

This week will start a study in the book of 1 Timothy. 1 Timothy is a deeply personal letter written by the apostle Paul to his son in 
the faith, Timothy. Timothy had traveled with Paul at times and had learned to follow Christ through Paul’s teaching and example. Paul left Timothy in Ephesus to lead the church in Paul’s absence. Later Paul writes the letter, 1 Timothy, to give Timothy instruction on how to lead the church. Paul starts the letter emphasizing the teaching of God’s redemptive plan. He then tells how the Law is necessary

This week will start a study in the book of 1 Timothy. 1 Timothy is a deeply personal letter written by the apostle Paul to his son in
the faith, Timothy. Timothy had traveled with Paul at times and had learned to follow Christ through Paul’s teaching and example. Paul left Timothy in Ephesus to lead the church in Paul’s absence. Later Paul writes the letter, 1 Timothy, to give Timothy instruction on how to lead the church. Paul starts the letter emphasizing the teaching of God’s redemptive plan. He then tells how the Law is necessary
