Why Jesus Compared His Death to Childbirth (The Hidden Meaning) | John 16:16-24

The Cross Church was born through much prayer during the years of 2006 and 2007 in Pensacola, Florida. A few believers began gathering weekly to pray, seeking the Lord to advance the gospel and build up healthy churches in Pensacola. Little did this small group expect that God would use the gathering itself as an answer to prayer. The Lord has been relentlessly faithful and gracious to us over the years, and we are more satisfied in him than ever before. We can say, “the Lord is our Shepherd, we have no needs.” He has led us beside still waters, restored our souls, prepared tables before us in the presence of our enemies, and repeatedly made our cup to overflow, surely his goodness and mercy will lead us all the way home.

From The Father: John 16:23-24

Catchy melodies, memorable pictures, and other mnemonic devices to help you memorize Bible verses more quickly, more easily, and remember them longer.  Pick a verse or two to learn each week, and go over them several times a day.  God's word is the most valuable, powerful thing you can put into your mind and hide in your heart.  Start with "Scripture Memory 101" to understand how to approach these songs and help you create and organize a scripture memory system to review the verses you've learned.  If you are a new Christian, start with "Welcome to the Family"  for information on getting started in your walk with God.  I have a Ph.D. in Music with a Masters in Music with emphasis on Musical Mnemonics from the University of Florida.  I have been memorizing Bible verses since I was around 10.  After I had memorized just over 850, when I was in college, the references began to mix together in my head and I had trouble keeping the reference with its specific verse. Songs help.

To help my kids memorize John 16:23-24, I created a parody of “Take the Last Train to Clarksville” by the Monkees.  The text is, "And when that time comes, you will ask nothing of Me.  I assure you, most solemnly I tell you that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name.  Up to this time you have not asked a thing; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy, gladness and delight may be full and complete."  Sing the song and you will memorize this verse and reference quickly and easily.
