Preparing for Tribulation and Glory
Unless we abandon our faith we cannot be destroyed, because we have been born of God.
There are promises of protection in the ninety-first Psalm that will keep us safe throughout the Great Tribulation. However, we must be living in Christ, in the “secret place,” for those promises to hold true for us.
“I will sweep away both man and beast; I will sweep away the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea—and the idols that cause the wicked to stumble.” “When I destroy all mankind on the face of the earth,” declares the Lord, (Zephaniah 1:3)
The verse above is a prophecy of the Great Tribulation.
“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.” (Matthew 24:22)
“Immediately after the distress of those days “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ (Matthew 24:29 )
Well, the above verses answer two questions, don’t they? Yes, some of God’s elect will still be on the earth when this fearful period is taking place; and the Great Tribulation (distress of those days) will take place before the Lord Jesus returns.
To claim there is a “secret rapture” of all professing Christians set forth in the 24th chapter of the Book of Matthew is fanciful, I believe. It reveals an irresponsible willingness to change the Bible in order to support an unscriptural tradition.
