Description
As a Lutheran (ELCA) pastor I'm committed to a faith tradition that is focused on words -- ancient words, complicated words, spirited words, poetic words, faithful words, mispleled wrods, romantic words, relevant words, exciting words, impassioned words, holy words -- and no one word more so than whom I've encountered as the divine word enfleshed in the life of Jesus. God Jesus is a good word. Sometimes I add a Lord or a Christ as intensifiers: "Lord Jesus, this is awesome" - "Jesus Christ, I'm blessed." And Lord knows I am blessed: with family through friendship beyond blood, with health enough to enjoy my health, with hope enough to enjoy passing words with others. (I prefer sharing words face-to-face...but there's a word these days (coronavirus) pointing me to share words where I can...so here I am -- and hear, I Am, the words we share to speak and sing and say in so many ways "thank you" through each word, for each word, for the very Word of Life, which, Jesus, is a good one.)
